The TV Sound might be plugged into the headphone jack, which often disables the TV's built-in speakers.
Connect to the TV's RCA audio output
If the TV Sound is plugged into the TV's headphone jack, unplug it and use the RCA (red/white) audio output ports instead (ports will be labeled 'Audio out' on the TV). An RCA (red/white) to 3.5mm stereo cable is included with the TV Sound.
Use a digital optical audio output
It is recommended to always use the digital audio output on the TV for connecting the TV Sound. If available (port is labeled 'Digital audio out (optical)' or 'Audio out (optical)' on the TV, use the supplied optical (toslink) cable to connect the TV Sound. Unplug the analog cable if it's still plugged into the TV Sound and the TV. Consult with the TV's user manual or manufacturer for assistance with locating the optical audio out port.
Change your TV's audio settings
Go to your TV's audio settings and enable the option for the TV speakers to be used simultaneously with external audio outputs
The TV is not set to output sound through the optical out connector.
Go to your TV's sound settings, and ensure the audio output is set to Digital Audio Out or Optical. This option is often located under Advanced Settings or Sound > Output Settings, depending on the TV model. If still having trouble finding the correct settings, consult with the TV's user manual or contact the TV manufacturer's support team.
If the TV Sound's LED is still blinking green even though the volume of the TV is increased to an adequate level, chances are the red/white RCA ports on the back of the TV are Inputs instead of a dedicated Audio output. The ports on the back of the TV should be labeled as a group. Make sure the red and white ports being used are labeled as 'Audio out' and not grouped with any other RCA ports with different colors (e.g. yellow, green, blue).
If there are no red/white RCA ports labeled 'Audio out', try looking for a port labeled 'Audio out (optical)' or 'Digital audio out (optical)'. If located, use the supplied optical (toslink) cable instead.
If there is no optical output, try looking for a headphone jack. If located, you can use a 3.5mm to 3.5mm stereo cable (not included) to connect the TV Sound to that port. Do note that this will mute the TV speakers.
If no audio outputs can be found, consult with the TV's user manual or the TV manufacturer's support team for assistance locating audio output options.
The device is overheating.
Keep the device out of direct sunlight. Avoid placing the TV Sound near windows or in sunlit areas.
Do not place it in a closed drawer or cabinet. Ensure proper ventilation by keeping the device in an open space with airflow.
Avoid placing it near heat sources. Keep it away from TV heat vents, gaming consoles, or other electronics that generate heat.
If the TV is playing media and the LED on the TV Sound is solid green, let's start by trying the following:
Pair the hearing aids to the TV Sound
If the hearing aids have been paired to another device (e.g. a smartphone), turn Bluetooth off on that device. Next, turn the hearing aids off and on. When the hearing aids turn on, place the hearing aids on top of the TV Sound. If you see a series of pulsing blue lights, that means the TV Sound is pairing to the hearing aids. Once you see the solid green light again, put the hearing aids in your ears. You can now turn on the Bluetooth in previously paired devices. Try to stream from the TV Sound using the Signia app, the buttons on the hearing aids, or the prescribed method by your hearing care professional.
Initiate streaming in the hearing aids
Streaming from the TV Sound doesn't occur automatically. You can start the TV Sound stream in three ways:
Increase the volume of the TV Sound stream
The volume of the TV Sound stream can be adjusted using the Signia app. If the Signia app is connected through Bluetooth and you are currently streaming from the TV Sound, go to the Stream section in the app. There should be a slider for TV Streaming. Use that slider to increase the volume of the TV Sound stream. Do note that the sliders in the Volume section of the app will also increase the volume of the TV Sound stream to a degree, but it will also increase the level of the hearing aid microphones (i.e. how loud the ambient sounds are) whereas the slider in the Stream section will only affect the TV Sound stream.
Reset the TV Sound and re-pair the hearing aids
Hold the reset button on the bottom of the TV Sound until the LED on top turns off. Let go of the button and you will see a blinking blue light. If your hearing aids have been paired to other devices (e.g. a smartphone), turn Bluetooth off on those devices. Turn the hearing aids off and back on and place them on top of the TV Sound. A series of pulsing blue lights will show up during the pairing process. After pairing is completed and the TV Sound shows a solid green light again (make sure the TV is on and playing something), you can enable Bluetooth on previously paired devices again. Try streaming again.
Ensure the hearing aid battery is not near empty
If using the Signia app, check the battery status of the hearing aids. If the hearing aid batteries are low and rechargeable, charge the hearing aids for at least 30 minutes and then try streaming again. If the hearing aids use exchangeable batteries, try new batteries.
The TV Sound or streaming device is placed in a drawer, behind a wall, or blocked by objects.
Place the TV Sound in clear line of sight. Make sure there are no physical obstructions between your hearing aids and the device.
Move closer to the TV Sound
Stay within the recommended wireless range (typically up to 10 meters / 30 feet).
Avoid areas with heavy wireless interference
Move the TV Sound away from other electronic devices that might interfere with the signal.
Make sure the audio cables are plugged in tightly and not damaged
If using the analog RCA to 3.5mm cable, make sure both ends are plugged in tightly. Try to unplug and replug them to reseat the connection. If using the optical (toslink) cable, ensure the cable is not kinked. Unplug the cable and swap ends to reverse and reseat the connections (ends are identical).
When using the optical connection, the TV Sound's analog input turns into an optical output to connect other audio devices to. If a soundbar is plugged into the TV's optical audio port already, unplug the soundbar's optical cable from the TV and the soundbar. Plug the TV Sound into that same port using the supplied optical (toslink) cable. To connect the soundbar to the TV Sound, a minitoslink to toslink cable is needed (not included). Once acquired, the minitoslink side will plug into the TV Sound's analog port (purple port). The other end of the cable will be a regular optical (toslink) plug and will plug into the soundbar's optical port. Now both the TV Sound and soundbar will receive the TV's audio signal.
The StreamLine Mic is compatible with Signia hearing aids with Bluetooth connectivity. It is not compatible with Pure Charge&Go BCT IX hearing aids (different type of Bluetooth used).
The StreamLine Mic is compatible with 3rd party devices that support Bluetooth 4.2 or newer.
You do not need an app to use the StreamLine Mic. However, you can use the Signia app to control the volume of the audio stream coming from the StreamLine Mic (e.g. streaming audio from a computer or using the StreamLine Mic in remote mic mode).
You do not need to have a special hearing program to use StreamLine Mic.
The StreamLine Mic can pair one set of hearing aids and up to maximum of 8 Bluetooth devices.
Only one Bluetooth device can be actively connected to the StreamLine Mic. To switch to another device, disconnect the StreamLine Mic on the first device and connect to it on the other device. You can also turn Bluetooth off on the first device and then connect to the StreamLine Mic on the other device.
Battery runtime is dependent on usage habits. For a typical day, a fully charged StreamLine Mic will be able to stream 2 hours of media and 2 hours of phone calls while still have 12 hours available in an idle state (i.e. powered on and connected to the HAs and a Bluetooth device but no active streaming). IF constantly streaming, it can stream for 6 hours before needing to be recharged. The StreamLine Mic can still be used while charging.
The power light will show the charging status. While charging and powered off, a blinking orange indicates that it is charging. A solid orange indicates a full charge. While charging and powered on, a blinking green light indicates that it is charging. A green light that slowly fades in and out indicates a full charge.
No, it is not recommended to pair the miniPocket and the Signia app to the same set of hearing aids. If this is done, the Signia app's connection to the hearing aids may erase the pairing of the miniPocket to the hearing aids.
